PTB-100 Programming Track Booster

PTB-100 amplifies the programming track signals to levels that work best with SoundTraxx Sound Decoders. It is easy to install and inexpensive.  An advantage to using the PTB-100 is that it also provides short circuit detection and some helpful diagnostics.

PTB-100 is neither needed nor recommended for use with the Zimo MX1 or the Lenz LVZ100. 

DCC Specialties Block Watcher

No Power Supply Needed:  Develops power from the DCC input connections.Very Low Voltage Drop: The resistance is less than 0.060 Ohms, very small voltage drop.Adaptive Block Leakage Detection: Electronically determines the amount of leakage current in the block when power is turned on. The current can also be set with a CV value up to about 130 mA.Stabilized Setting for Current Trip Level: This prevents the block detection from fluttering on and off when the current is near the trip level.

Block Detection Option: Block detection can be turned on with an Accessory Command for testing signals even with nothing in the block. This feature can also be used to turn the signals red to protect a crossing.

Block Detection Output Isolated from Track Power: The output switch is totally isolated from the track power. This eliminates many wiring problems when combining signal circuits and track power.

Outputs for LED Indicator: A single LED output can be used for a remote location.

The 21 MTC adapter board 2 is also suitable for digitizing a loco without interface, or wish to use more than four function outputs on your decoder. 

On the output side, the adapter offers soldered cables (appr. 20cm length) . There are amplifiers (appr. 250mA each) for function AUX3 and AUX4 so that ESU decoders can have up to 6 available physical functions.

This expansion board can easily expand your LokPilot V4.0 or LokSound V4.0 decoder (with 21MTC interface!): Benefit from 4 additional function outputs (AUX5 through AUX8) for lighting effects, coupler etc or connect 2 RC-servos! The highlight of the expansion board is the control electronics for synchronised smoke units, just install an ESU smoke unit to generate synchronised steam chuffs or Diesel smoke.

The board measures 15.5mmx 30mmx 5.5mm (0.61 x 1.18 x 0.22 inch)

The module can be directly plugged into a 21MTC interface of a loco (if enough height available) .

ESU Boards

Makes installation easier and safer. First, all wires are connected to the soldering points of the adapter board. All contact points (terminals) are present on both - top and bottom and you can remove and reinsert your decoder at any time.

ESU Wire

Super thin, extremely flexible wire,(AWG 36) with an outside diameter of only 0.5 mm (0.02 inch), in all common DCC colours. They come in 10 m (30 feet).

Although our LokSound XL decoder can handle many commercially available smoke generators we recommend our new smoke generators. 

Integral electronics control both the fan and the heating system of the smoke generator and with a temperature sensor, the amount of smoke is independent of the track voltage and will burn if the tank is empty.

The amount of smoke and the revs of the fan can be determined by the LokSound XL V4.0 decoder allowing both steam smoke plumes as well as diesel exhaust plumes. Steam exhaust plumes can be synchronized by external triggers or can be determined by the LokSound XL decoder.  It also accepts commands via the SUSI interface.

ESU - XL Decoders

51 x 40 mm and available in two different types: Screw-type terminals for installation in older models without an interface socket and a version with multi-pin connectors. This version fits into all locomotives where an older type LokSound XL decoder has been installed previously.

Supports DCC as well as Motorola®, Selectrix® and M4. Supports 14 to 128-speed steps as well as 2 and 4 digit addresses in DCC format and up to 32 functions.

The LokPilot V5 DCC supports the worldwide standardised DCC protocol and can be used in combination with all DCC systems on the market. It can also be used for DC operation and recognises operational modes automatically "on-the-fly". up to 9999 addresses in DCC operation. A new feature is the ABC braking mode. Newly introduced by Lenz®, The LokPilot V5.0 DCC also fully supports the RailCom® standard and can be programmed with all current digital command stations.

The new LokPilot V5.0 DCC is 9% smaller than its forerunner and thus easier to install. Beside the known LokPilot versions, with 8-pin or 6-pin NEM interface, and a new version with a 21MTC connector.

The LokPilot V5.0 DCC decoder has 4 function outputs which achieve 250 mA load each and are separately dimmable and can be allocated individually to different light functions such as flashing light, firebox flicker, strobe – and double strobe, Ditch Light etc. Beyond that, the 21MTC connector version has two logical outputs which can be made alive via the adapter board 51968. Of course, the decoder is able to control the automatic decoupling move and push time for Roco®, Krois® and Telex® couplers and also offers a high beam function as a new feature. The „LED mode“ ensures that the light effects are set correctly when using LEDs.

DCC Dual Frog Juicer/Auto-Reverser/Circuit Breaker

Can be configured to use as an automatic polarity reverser for two frogs, a reversing loop, a turntable, a wye, or a crossing.  It can also be used as a circuit breaker to control a power district (with the bonus it will reverse polarity if needed).  It uses the same basic design as the hex frog juicer but has 33 Amp transistors so it can be used with multi-unit lash ups and 10 Amp boosters.  Setup is simple, connect the input to the DCC track bus, and connect the output wires either to two frogs or two rails.  A jumper controls whether the two outputs act as a pair (i.e. an auto-reverser) or independently (i.e. a pair of frog juicers).  Another pair of jumpers controls the current set point for switching, either 2 Amps or 4 Amps.  When used for frogs or crossings generally 2 Amps work best and for an auto-reversing application, 4 Amps generally works best.

DCC Hex Frog Juicer

Can be configured to use as an automatic polarity reverser for six frogs, or a reverser for one to three reversing loops, turntables, wyes, or crossings.  Setup is simple, connect the input to the DCC track bus, and connect the output wires either to six frogs or rails.  Two jumper controls whether the two, four or six outputs act as pairs (i.e. an auto-reverser) or independently (i.e. a pair of frog juicer).  Should not be used with boosters over 10 Amps.  See the Dual Frog Juicer for 10 Amp boosters.

Servo Centering Tool

Keep your servos centered while you mount them under the layout.  The tool consists of a battery box connected to a small circuit board that continuously puts out a centering signal for the servo (1.5 ms pulse). Keeping your servos porperly centered while mounting is the key to making the servos work best. The battery box has an on/off switch to save your batteries when not in use. Everyone using servos for turnouts needs one of these. Requires 3 AA batteries.
